Alabama sportscaster with a message to panicking Crimson Tide fans after Ryan Grubb’s departure

Alabama football lost Travaris Robinson to Georgia upon the hiring of Kalen DeBoer as the new head coach.

Other assistants joined Robinson in the exodus as Robert Bala, Joe Cox, Eric Wolford, and Tommy Rees were not retained.

DeBoer made sure his staff would be a splash of Washington, but two assistants from his Pac-12 Championship staff with the Huskies have taken NFL jobs for the Seattle Seahawks. Ryan Grubb is now the offensive coordinator for Seattle and Scott Huff has been finalized the Seahawks’ offensive line coach. Some Crimson Tide fans are in a state of panic with Robinson gone, several players that transferred out, and now losing an OC and OL coach. Chris Stewart, a sportscaster for Alabama Athletics for Crimson Tide Sports Network of Learfield, has a message for fans that are panicking. He delivered it via Disrupt the Media, a podcast connected to the Next Round Show.

“You don’t know if it is a problem or not until it becomes one,” Stewart said in Alabama losing Grubb and Huff.

“At the moment, it is not a problem. We have not had a practice yet. It has not impacted recruiting, to my knowledge, yet. And even if it does, does it mean that it cannot be overcome by the time you play the opener? I have talked about this before…. I am not putting Kalen DeBoer on Nick Saban’s historic level, but I will say … the reminder again, when Nick Saban left East Lansing (Michigan) to go to Baton Rouge (Louisiana) to be the head coach of LSU after being the head coach at Michigan State, he sent a plane back to get all of his assistants. Not one, zero were on on the plane. They stayed to be on Bobby Williams’ staff. Four years later, Nick Saban is holding up the crystal trophy in New Orleans at the Superdome having won a national championship with the Tigers, and Bobby Williams and that staff was released that year because they did not win enough ball games. Give it a rest. There is enough to sweat when it is truly a problem, but don’t sweat stuff until it becomes one.”

Stewart said a mouth full of wisdom and had the insight to back it up.

Alabama fans have no reason to panic with spring practice not starting yet. Tide fans have no reason to panic as Alabama has not made it out of the offseason. It still has an opportunity to pull some guys from the NCAA transfer portal when it reopens in April.

Now is not the time to panic for Alabama fans.
